Singapore Travel Guide
Singapore is much more than a stopover destination. Fusing futuristic architecture with a rich colonial past and a multitude of family-friendly attractions, Singapore is a fantastic city to explore in its own right.
Shop the designer boutiques at world-famous Orchard Road, browse the high-tech malls, or visit the numerous hawker stalls for a tasty street-food snack. Enjoy the blend of cultures with a stroll through Chinatown's bustling streets, hop to little India for a fiery curry, or admire the Neo-classical buildings dotted along the streets.

Elsewhere in the city, you'll find plenty to keep all ages occupied. Head to 'Asia's Favourite Playground' at Sentosa Island and discover the thrill-seeking rides of Universal Studios® and Imbiah Lookout, or spend the day at the two-mile beach there. There's also an aquarium and a large water park complete with Southeast Asia's first hydro-magnetic water coaster. Visit the award-winning Singapore Zoo, known for its many walk-through exhibits, and get up close to over 2,800 animals. Don't miss the Night Safari, a guided tram ride where you can spot nocturnal creatures - like tigers and slow lorises - when they're most active.
A stroll around the marina is a must, home to the legendary Marina Bay Sands Hotel, with its glamorous casino, iconic rooftop infinity pool and SkyPark - which offers incredible views of the bay and an impressive laser light show. The world-renowned Botanic Gardens are another highlight, where you'll find the National Orchid Gardens, home to more than 1000 species of Orchid. It is the perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle of Orchard Road.

Best time to visit Singapore
Singapore is a good year-round destination
The weather is warm and humid all year round. Rainfall is almost an everyday phenomenon, but these brief showers are usually quite refreshing, providing a welcome respite from the sun - rarely lasting more than 30 minutes. December typically sees the most rainfall, so make sure you pack an umbrella if you're travelling at this time.
November - June is Singapore's high season, attracting those seeking a warmer winter and looking to join in numerous holiday festivals (including Chinese new year and the dragon boat festival).
The Great Singapore Sale runs June - August and is the best time to pick up bargains in the malls. You can also look forward to the annual Singapore food festival in July.
