Seychelles Travel Guide
Seychelles holidays encapsulate every desert island dream rolled into one. Blessed by some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, The Seychelles are the go-to destination for glamorous getaways.
Everything in this glorious archipelago amounts to one little word: wow!
There's little to do - but this suits most blissed-out visitors down to the ground. Warm, turquoise waters invite you to swim, snorkel, and scuba dive - whilst back on dry land, spa treatments and sunbathing top the to-do list.
There are over 115 different islands in the Seychelles - most of which are uninhabited. Island hopping is popular; it gives you the chance to experience different types of resort and contrast the bustle of the busier islands with the untouched beauty of the lesser-known gems.
The majority of Seychelles hotels and resorts can be found on the three main islands of Mahé, Praslin and La Digue, although there are another ten islands that offer accommodation.

Dining in Seychelles
Holidays to the Seychelles revolve around lazy breakfasts, long lunches, and relaxed a la carte dinners. The hardest decision you'll have to make is whether to dine in the restaurant, or al fresco - beneath a canopy of stars on the beach. Almost all the hotels and resorts in the Seychelles offer incredible dining experiences, whilst you'll find plenty of eateries serving authentic Creole cuisine and fresh fish dishes in the capital, Mahé.
Where to stay in Seychelles
Mahé
Mahé is the largest and most developed island; the gateway to all Seychelles holidays. Whilst you're there, don't miss the chance to visit one of the lively street markets in Victoria - the island's capital city, where you'll find all manner of fruit, local produce and hand-crafted souvenirs. Nature-lovers should also seize the opportunity to go trekking through the forests - past waterfalls, up the mountains, and along beaches with their striking granite rock formations.
Praslin
When you picture an idyllic Seychelles scene in your mind - Praslin Island is what you're dreaming about. Quieter than Mahé, it's National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site - filled with flawless vistas and fascinating flora. The island's rolling hills tumble down to palm-fringed white sand beaches, where with crystal-clear waves gently lap along the shoreline. Stay at the five-star Constance Lemuria Resort, which is home to the only 18-hole championship golf course in the Seychelles. All villas offer sea views, overlooking one of the two private beaches.
Denis Private Island
A dot in the Indian Ocean, Denis Private Island is the epitome of a relaxed, unpretentious escape. If you need a get-away-from-it-all destination, this is the perfect place to reconnect with what's really important ('digital detoxing' is almost mandatory - helped by the fact there is no mobile or internet service). There is little need to do anything but while away sun-drenched days on your very own silky slice of beach, pausing only to cool off in the pool or stroll gently around the island, greeting the island's endearing inhabitants: a herd of rather large tortoises. Active-bods can let off steam with a range of watersports, whilst divers will be delighted by the kaleidoscope of colourful corals and tropical fish beneath the surface - and there's even the possibility of swimming with whale sharks.
