Fujairah Holidays
Fujairah Travel Guide
Fujairah is located on the east coast of the UAE, roughly two hours' drive from Dubai, bordering the Gulf of Oman (part of the Indian Ocean). It's predominantly known for its beaches - there's not much in the way of flashy attractions, but the calm, peaceful ambience is a welcome contrast to the busy cities of Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The pace of life is noticeably slower, making it a great place to go if you're after a relaxing beach holiday, where 'rushing about' is limited to the journey between your favourite sun lounger and the spa.
Sandwiched between the Hajar Mountains and the coastline, the area is good for outdoor sports like mountain biking and rock climbing. Fujairah is a favourite weekend escape for Emirati locals, who flock to the mountains for a change of scenery and the chance to unwind.

Things to do in Fujairah - The Highlights
The hotels in Fujairah offer a good selection of watersports - making the most of the clear, warm waters of the Arabian Sea. Kite surfing and scuba diving are popular (if you're feeling intrepid, you can even try a night dive). Fujairah is reportedly the best destination in the UAE for deep sea fishing, and you can spend an enjoyable afternoon coasting offshore, hoping to reel in a sizable catch.
All of our featured Fujairah hotels have excellent spas; getting pampered is a popular pastime. From spa cabanas on the beach to all-encompassing Ayurvedic treatment menus, feel your muscles relax and tension disappear as you're spoilt rotten by well-trained therapists.
The surrounding mountains give Fujairah its own micro-climate (it even has a 'rainy' season in February - although the actual amount of rainfall is minimal - not even of half of what the UK can expect during a typical July).
In Fujairah, there's not a lot to do outside the hotel (unlike nearby Dubai and Abu Dhabi, where attractions and entertainment are thrust upon you at every turn). If you're the kind of person who's very happy to do absolutely nothing on their holiday but sunbathe, spa and swim - Fujairah is an absolutely ideal holiday destination. It typically attracts a more discerning clientele than Ras Al Khaimah, but is a million miles away from the hustle and bustle of glitzy Dubai (although day trips are possible, if you're in need of stimulation).
The standard of hotels is very high in Fujairah. There are several five-star hotel offerings managed by big-name brands including Le Meridien, Iberotel and Rotana.
