When to go to Las Vegas
Summers in Las Vegas are hot, with temperatures often creeping upwards of 40°C. This isn't a problem if you if you're going for the casinos, clubs and attractions - as they all have good air-conditioning. The hotels also doing a great job of managing the heat by the pool - providing shady cabanas, water-mist cooling systems and keeping your iced-drinks topped up throughout the day.
September - November and April - June are good times to go if you're keen to walk up and down The Strip, play golf, or take an excursion to the Grand Canyon. It's still warm and sunny during these months, but the heat is more manageable than the summer. Temperatures can drop in the evenings, so it's a good idea to pack some lightweight layers to whisk on and off.
December and January are also really popular times to visit - thanks to the abundance of holiday parties, which spill over into the New Year's Eve celebrations. Although Vegas remains warmer than many other US destinations at this time of year, temperatures can drop below 10 °C, which is worth bearing in mind when packing your suitcase.
