The Sandpiper

The Sandpiper is situated in the middle of a large bay on the West Coast of Barbados, just a 5-minute walk to the historic Holetown and its local restaurants and boutiques. It is set on a beautiful sandy beach that is lapped by gentle turquoise waters and its stunning grounds are filled with orchid trees and swaying coconut trees, creating a magical atmosphere. The gardens are so special in fact that even garden tours are offered, a fantastic experience.

The Sandpiper has a stunning collection of rooms and suites that provide you with the perfect abode to reside back to. The Garden Rooms are a fantastic choice for two and have a spacious balcony or patio with views of the lush gardens. Upgrade to a One Bedroom Suite for additional living space or if you would like an ocean front location complete with wet bar and sundeck then the Beach House Suites will not disappoint. 

The Sandpiper has a sparkling, mosaic tiled pool that is edged with luxury loungers and there is also a separate 60ft lap pool for those leisurely swims that is just for adults and older children from 9am-1pm. There are also two tennis courts and complimentary coaching with the resident pro which adults and children can both enjoy. For golf enthusiasts, there are two great golf courses nearby, Sandy Lane and Royal Westmoreland and there is also a gym on site with life fitness machines.

There is a wonderful Spa at sister hotel, Coral Reef Club , which is just two minutes’ drive away and complimentary transfers can be arranged. Here there is an outdoor Hydro-pool with shaded cabanas and thermal suite with Crystal Steam room and Experience shower as well as a spa lounge where you can relax after indulging in a menu of tantalizing treatments. 

The hotel is fortunate enough to be on a stunning beach where there is an array of coral growth scattered up and down the West Coast and snorkelling equipment is available to explore the sea life. There is a water sports facility where you can also enjoy complimentary non-motorised water sports and additional activities such as water-skiing, diving and inflatable doughnut rides are available for an extra charge. For families visiting there is a special family programme available for 2-11 years, as well as in house baby equipment and if you need a much-needed rest, babysitting services can be requested.

The Sandpiper is home to a scrumptious restaurant that has a distinguished reputation among visitors and locals alike and is considered one of the best in Barbados. The divine menu changes five times weekly allowing you to taste many delicious flavours from around the world. Most Wednesday nights, a West Indian and International buffet is a real highlight, and you can tuck into favourites such as roast beef and Yorkshire puddings, Caribbean shrimp and a fantastic display of desserts amongst much more. Most Sundays an incredible barbecue is served where you will be spoilt for choice with a wide selection of meats, fresh fish and seafood available from the grill. Harold’s is the casual eatery where al fresco lunches can be enjoyed at the pretty beachside setting. Stop by here for an evening drink and watch the sun go down whilst you sip on an expertly made cocktail. The Sandpiper also offers low key entertainment most nights from talented vocalists to instrumentalists and hosts a weekly cocktail party.

The menu changes five times weekly with dishes to be enjoyed with views of lit gardens and surrounded by tranquil koi ponds. Enjoy specialty evenings including international buffets and dessert displays or tuck into mouth-watering meats and fresh fish at the barbecue evening.

The Sandpiper will close for annual refurbishment and staff holidays on 8th August - 17th October 2026.

Half Board includes breakfast and dinner at Sandpiper's Restaurant.
