Honeymoon Holidays to Bali

Bali, romantically nicknamed 'the island of the Gods,' makes an ideal honeymoon destination. With countless sandy beaches, welcoming locals, lush scenery and a high calibre of modern, super-sexy designer-led resorts, Bali honeymoons are the stuff of dreams.

Many of the hotels in Bali have either opened within the last few years, or have been recently renovated, offering an abundance of stylish facilities and everything you need for a romantic escape, from spacious rooms to sumptuous spas that are cooler than a cucumber eye mask.

Activities
Bali is an easy island to explore - if you can drag yourselves away from the resort - you'll find loads of activities to keep you captivated on your honeymoon. Tour ancient rock-carved temples, ride a bike through rippling rice paddies, go river rafting through the forest, or sip sundowners at a cliff-edged restaurant whilst waves crash below.

Evenings
Bali was made for romantic dinners: think bubbling rivers lit by candlelight under glittering starlit skies, candlelit cave dining on a private beach near Nusa Dua, cliff-side dining with sunset ocean views in Uluwatu, or five-course gourmet dinners overlooking the jungle treetops in the heart of Ubud.

Kuta, Seminyak and Legian are the island's nightlife hotspots. Don’t miss sunset drinks at one of the laid-back beachside shacks, and stay late for boozy beach parties at the Potato Head Club, which carry on well into the early hours. Seminyak is known for its stylish clubbing scene, whereas Kuta is the place to head if you're after a wild night out.

Spa
Your Bali honeymoon wouldn't be complete without experiencing some of the Zen-like spa therapies available across the island. Breathe in Javanese essential oils, whilst expert therapists get to work renewing your body with stress-busting Ayurvedic, oriental and holistic treatments.

Matching seasons
If you're getting married during the British summer, Bali makes an excellent follow-up - thanks in part to the matching seasons. Bali is warm and sunny all year round, although the absolute best time to go on honeymoon is between May - September, as this is the driest time of year. The rainiest times of year are January - April and October - November, although rainfall is rarely excessive and it usually brightens up again in no time - and you're still able to do most activities, except volcano treks.

LGTB Honeymoons
Bali is one of the more welcoming parts of Indonesia, and same-sex couples shouldn't have any problems honeymooning in Bali. There are several gay bars in Seminyak.
